Description
In 1966, the psychiatrist Arnold M. Ludwig published the essay “Altered States of Consciousness” (short: ASC), which caused a sensation far beyond the boundaries of his field. This book analyzes literary case studies (Ernst Junger, Novalis, E. T. A. Hoffmann, Gottfried Benn, Franz Kafka, Peter Sloterdijk, Jia Tolentino et al.) of ASC with the aim of focusing on their creative potential for literature.
